Cable Crunch — Points to Check Today

  • Curl with your abs — Don't pull with your arms; contract your abs to round your spine. (Pulling the rope with the arms so the tension is lost)
  • Keep your hips fixed — If your hips move up and down, it turns into a back exercise. (Bobbing the hips while pulling)
  • Return slowly — Resist with your abs on the way up too, and go slowly. (Being dragged by the weight and extending quickly)

Cable Crunch — How to Do It / If You're New

  1. Attach a rope to the high pulley, kneel down, and hold the rope beside your forehead/head.
  2. Push your hips back slightly to set your starting position.
  3. Curl your abs to round your torso, drawing your sternum down toward your pelvis.
  4. Once you feel the abs contract, slowly extend your torso back to the starting position.
