Decline Push-up — Points to Check Today
- Keep your body in a straight line — If your hips rise or your lower back sags, the tension is dispersed. (Lifting the hips to make an easier angle)
- Elbows at 45 degrees — Flaring them out strains your shoulders. (The elbows flaring out to 90 degrees)
- Adjust difficulty with foot height — The higher your feet, the harder it is and the more load on the upper chest and shoulders. (Going so high it strains only the shoulders)
Decline Push-up — How to Do It / If You're New
- Place the tops of your feet on a bench or box and set your hands beside your chest, slightly wider than shoulder-width.
- Keep a straight line from head to heels and brace your core.
- Bend your elbows to 45 degrees and lower slowly so your chest approaches the floor.
- Push off the floor to return to the starting position.
