Calf Wall Stretch — Points to Check Today

  • Don't lift the back heel off the floor — If the heel lifts, the calf doesn't lengthen. (Letting the back heel rise as you lean forward)
  • Keep the back knee straight — Bending the knee shifts the stretch away from the upper calf. (Bending the back knee so the stretch disappears)
  • Point the toes straight ahead — If the foot turns outward, the ankle twists. (Leaning in with the back toes splayed outward)

Calf Wall Stretch — How to Do It / If You're New

  1. Stand facing a wall and place both hands on it at shoulder height.
  2. Step one foot far back and plant the back heel firmly on the floor.
  3. Slowly bend the front knee, leaning your torso toward the wall while keeping the back leg straight.
  4. Hold for 30 seconds where you feel a comfortable pull in the back calf, then repeat the same on the other side.
