Calf Wall Stretch
A static stretch held after your workout, leaning on a wall to lengthen the calves.
Stretching · Recommended Sets: Hold 30 seconds x 2 reps each side · Calves
Calf Wall Stretch — Points to Check Today
- Don't lift the back heel off the floor — If the heel lifts, the calf doesn't lengthen. (Letting the back heel rise as you lean forward)
- Keep the back knee straight — Bending the knee shifts the stretch away from the upper calf. (Bending the back knee so the stretch disappears)
- Point the toes straight ahead — If the foot turns outward, the ankle twists. (Leaning in with the back toes splayed outward)
Calf Wall Stretch — How to Do It / If You're New
- Stand facing a wall and place both hands on it at shoulder height.
- Step one foot far back and plant the back heel firmly on the floor.
- Slowly bend the front knee, leaning your torso toward the wall while keeping the back leg straight.
- Hold for 30 seconds where you feel a comfortable pull in the back calf, then repeat the same on the other side.
